Oh, what do you do in the summertime, when all the world is green?

My friend Josh and I were talking last night, after my Pi Day party, about how we would like to be more social. Well, he was really expressing that he wanted to put more effort into being more social, I am maybe a little too social. Nah, that's not possible. Anyway, Josh suggested that this summer we create a "Fun Squad". A group of people who do something fun every week. We started brainstorming and coming up with things we could do and I grabbed a pen and paper to keep track. We quickly came up with more than enough things to do to fill the summer. Many things I can't imagine doing only once. Now I'm very anxiously awaiting warmer weather to get started on conquering the list.

Josh also laid out the rules for the Fun Squad:
  1. Have fun.
  2. No whining.
Here's what we came up with:
  • Baseball games
  • Bonfires
  • Roller derby
  • Demolition derbies
  • Various local city festivals including but not limited to Strawberry Days
  • Llama Fest
  • Outdoor movies at the Scera
  • Visiting the Storytelling Festival
  • Free concerts at the Gallivan Center
  • Jazz Fest
  • Tubing the river
  • Lazer Tag
  • Chinese wish lanterns
  • Visiting "the bottomless pit"
  • Fire breathing
  • Attending some sort of crazy convention. Trekies perhaps?
  • Tulip festival
  • Plein air event at Thanksgiving Point
  • Rodeos
  • Drive in movie
  • Rafting trip to Idaho or Colorado. Or both.
  • Riding horses
  • Kites
  • Recreating a George Forman BBQ/Rockband/Mixed drink party we once had
Do you have any other ideas for us?
Want to join us?
